Welcome to Chung Ai Photographic Society
本會成立於一九七四年, 為加拿大第一個不牟利之華裔攝影組織. 本會自成立以來, 本著以聯繫同好, 切磋影藝, 交流心得, 培養後進, 提高攝影水平為宗旨. 曾主辦無數之學術講座, 展覽, 比賽, 集體組團旅行等攝影活動。
本會有會員貳百多人, 會友足跡遍及國內及世界各地. 其中大部份為業餘攝影愛好者, 也有從事專業攝影者, 或執教於本地文化機構所主辦的攝影班, 培育攝影人才。
近年中藝攝影學會也積極參加本地攝影學會舉辦的攝影比賽, 成績優異. 同時,還有個別會友選送作品參加國際攝影沙龍, 屢獲獎項. 更有會友奪得世界攝影十傑與及北美洲攝影十傑等名銜. 又本會有多位會友, 考取到英國皇家攝影學會會士及高級會士名銜, 也有些會友更同時考獲多項名銜。
Chung Ai Photographic Society was established in 1974 as a non-profit Society mainly for Chinese Canadians in Vancouver. The purpose of the Society is to initiate a high artistic standard for photography by promoting friendship, exchanging ideas, and sharing new knowledge amongst members.
To achieve these goals, we have been sponsoring lectures for inexperienced enthusiasts and advanced amateurs in photography. We have been organizing open competitions and field trips as well.
The Society has over 200 members in Greater Vancouver and overseas. The constituents of our members range from amateurs to professionals and lecturing photographers. With plenty of encouragement and support, many members participate in open competitions at the national and international levels. They have been rewarded with numerous merits and awards. Still, many members have gone through stringent evaluations to receive the titles from international photographic bodies, such as the honorary titles of Associate offered by Photographic Society of America, and the Associate and Fellow by The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.
